The Success Foundation "If we don't know where we are going, how do we know when we have arrived?" We all laugh at the mushroom philosophy and yet even today, many organisations fail to explain to their employees where they are going and what they are trying to do. Tom Peters once suggested a simple test, "Ask your Receptionist what your organisation does?" If they can't tell you in one sentence, then they do not share your corporate vision. The solution is not just a matter of putting a Mission Statement on the wall. The vision has to be clearly identified and then used as a template for everything the organisation does, from its communication to its pay practices.
